Personnel Training / Support

At Triton Submarines LLC, safety is our primary objective and drives all aspects of the design, engineering and manufacturing processes at the company. Our commitment to safety carries on through testing, commissioning and training. We maintain an on-going relationship with our clients and offer them 24/7 technical support, maintenance oversight and assistance with annual and/or special periodic ABS surveys. The delivery of one of our submersibles marks the beginning of our relationship with a client and we provide technical support throughout the lifetime of a submersible.

As part of the sales price of our products, we include a comprehensive two-week training course. In addition, our clients are required to either be on site themselves or to appoint a representative who will act on their behalf to participate in the final assembly, testing and sea trial of a their new submersible. Access to our facility during the final assembly and testing phase provides our clients and their prospective pilot(s) and maintenance technician(s) with an excellent opportunity to familiarize themselves, in hands-on fashion, with every aspect of their new submersible, including equipment location, proper function and most important of all, how to maintain, repair and properly operate the craft.

Triton Submarines will not deliver any submersible to a client until they have fully met their contractual obligation to "satisfactorily complete our proprietary company training program and demonstrate a level of competency, familiarity and understanding that either meets or exceeds our expectations". Upon request, we will supplement training or oversee and participate in the training of a new crew or owner. The company does not only train the pilot and maintainer, but will also train the yacht's deck crew in the proper methods for launch, recovery and stowage of the submarine as well as in the proper operation of the support equipment.

The company has developed a remarkable series of detailed and comprehensive operations manuals, maintenance manuals, checklists and logs that are delivered with every submersible.

In 2008, Triton Submarines LLC unveiled the world's first civilian submersible simulator. The Triton simulator allows our clients an unprecedented opportunity to pilot their submersible on literally dozens of dives before they ever take delivery of the real thing. In the simulator, we teach our clients and/or their representatives normal and emergency operating procedures and everything else they need to become accomplished and safe submersible pilots. We also offer periodic recurrency training in the simulator and the client's submersible. Our commitment to safety and the need for thorough and on-going training is unparalleled in the industry. No other submersible manufacturer has ever made a more serious commitment to training than Triton Submarines has by investing in the technology necessary to create the world's first manned submersible simulator.

Learning how to operate one of our Triton submersibles is something we can and do teach quickly, but a good pilot is an individual with a thorough understanding of the vessel he or she commands, who will remain calm under pressure and who can be relied upon to make good decisions at all times as a direct result of the knowledge, training and experience they have.

At Triton Submarines, the training program is under the direct supervision of the company President, Patrick Lahey. Patrick is arguably the most experienced civil submarine and submersible pilot active in the world today. It is his responsibility to see to it that the training received as part of buying one of our submersibles is the finest available in the world.
